What's the best part of celebrating the 4th of July? The fireworks of course! There are a few different places in Savannah, Ga where you can either lay out your blanket, stand and watch, or even catch a glimpse while driving.
One of the most popular places to see a spectacular display of fireworks is over the river from historic Savannah River Street. Each and every year Savannah celebrates the 4th of July with an amazingly unique show, and this year it's even choreographed to music! Yes, that means you should bring a radio and tune to FM radio stations KIX96.5, Z102.1, and Magic 103.9.
Just 20 minutes East of Savannah, Tybee Island offers a July 4th celebration of fireworks, however it happens on the 3rd. The fireworks are launched from the Tybee Island Pier but can be seen almost anywhere on the eastern beaches of the island.
Tybee Island also has an event on the 4th called the Tybee Beach Sweep. Sounds interesting doesn't it? Well it is! This is the event where volunteers gather together on the beach to show patriotism by cleaning up after the fireworks! Volunteers should meet at the Tybee Pavilion at 6:30 am for directions and supplies. Bags, gloves, grabbers and water will be provided, and volunteers are reminded to wear a hat and sunscreen.
We certainly love to have a good time here in Savannah and the 4th of July is no exception, even if it does happen right in the middle of a work week!
